Tutorial (Liz Lemon)

Tutorial
Liz Lemon

The tutorial with Liz was interesting because I haven't really spoke to her about my work before and it was nice to have another tutors views on how I can move on productively.
At the beginning of the tutorial I mentioned to Liz about a new idea I have been thinking about during the artist lecture, the ideas was to look in a dictionary and pin point words that relate to the idea of consumerism and make a geographical piece of art using the one word only that I had found. Liz mentioned that although it sounds like it could be a good idea if I did a bit more research into it, she thinks that I have got enough work to dig deeper and find different ways of presenting it and expanding on them to improve or alter in some ways.
I thought this was a good idea cause it has made me more focused with the work I have already produced leaving me thinking of different presentation ideas so that it makes more sense to the viewer.
Also, I have started to realize that my work is starting to be very process based, highlighting that the most important part of the works that I am producing is the process (the receipts art I am working on).
Liz also gave me some ideas to do with research into how my small sketches relate to the receipts I have on my wall, as the receipts have very small writing on them and you would have to get up close to interpret them. My small drawings also have small writing on them so I want to have a look at the relationship between them and maybe see where that takes me.

The tutorial was really helpful and ive got a couple of ideas and ways into researching more about consumerism and having a look at the process the manufacturers have to go through, for example invoices ect.
