Review about the readings
Grahams Lecture
During this lecture we went through each reading, it was fun because it was an interactive lecture.
The first session we had was the readings I didn't go to but the second half of the lecture was about the readings I did go to. This was interesting because with the readings being a couple of weeks ago it was good to see how much we can remember. Surprisingly, I remembered quite a bit! Graham chose some of us to answer some of the questions, the one I was asked was 'What period was Post-Modernism?'. At first I didn't really know what period Post Modernism was in but during the lecture he went through post modernism and what it entails and by the end I knew what it was on about and really interested me!
When doing some research into Post Modernism, it was really interesting because it was the same type of idea I am looking at in my own practice. It is all about mass consumption and consumerism between the 1960's and the early 2000's. I need to look into this period further to see different types of artworks that are involed in this time and how they could relate to the practice I am pursuing at this time.
