Today I have been finishing off the text which is on the canvas, it's a small bit of poetry that describes the walks I went of in ilam.
The text was difficult in one way as I had to take extra care when keeping the same thickness of each letter.
After I had painted the writing on the front of the canvas, I then produced some images using photoshop to overlap some of the photographs I took while I was on the trip. These photographs consisted of images of various signs that highlight that people are trying to control nature and the environment around them.
After I had used these images to form a single image I used the photography printers to print them off onto a paper calmed 'lazertran'. This is a paper that will alow me to transfer an image to the canvas.
This was extremely challenging as it required me to be extra patient because the paper is very fragile.
This is what the canvas looks like so far:
Now I have transferred the lazertran to the canvas I am now going to place the resin on top to form a layer where I can create an extra dimension. This is interesting as the national trust is all about preservation and that I what I am trying to convey in this piece and resin is used within the preservation process.
